"I AM CREATIVE ENOUGH TO LIVE A LIFE WITH DIGNITY"

"I HAVE CROSSED THE THRESHOLD OF MY HOUSE TO ESTABLISH AN IDENTITY OF MY OWN !"

Dear Blog Doston !

On the 12th, 13th and 14th day of historical campaign  Dreaming North India: A step towards sustainable livelihood by Prerna Mahila samiti, the trainees learnt various aspects of  entrepreneurship and how to set up their own enterprise.

At the outset, Ms Seema Pandey, Lead counsellor of Prerna said, "The capacity and willingness to develop , organize and manage a business venture along with any of its risks in order to make a profit is called entrepreneurship. An entrepreneur is an individual who, rather than working as an employee, founds and runs a small business, assuming all the risks and rewards of the venture. The entrepreneur is commonly seen as an innovator, a source of new ideas, goods, services and business.

Then after, Ms Swapnil Shukla, Head Trainer of Prerna explained that being an entrepreneur means that you are responsible for all the decisions you make. You will have to be resilient, and determined to withstand all the obstacles and hindrances that come in the way. She has also given some examples of micro business and threw light on some of the government schemes , loan facilities , subsidies etc. which can help the attendees to start a business.

Information about budget plan, marketing, and networking which is necessary for any business was provided by Mr Rishabh Shukla, PR Lead of the Prerna Mahila Samiti.

Women and young girls have decided to make small groups and then start researching on apparel business. They have decided to focus on market trends, materials, cost effectiveness and customers approach. They have pledged to start their own venture as soon as possible.

Besides, they got to know about  various aspects of design i.e Principles & Elements Of Design.

Ms Swapnil Shukla, Head Trainer explained that when designing, there are several ideas or aspects of design that need to be kept in mind. These aspects of design can be categorized into two areas: Principles and Elements of Design. One way to describe this is: “The princples are the directions for a cake recipe and the elements are the ingredients. The directions (principles) are flexible and should be interpreted within a current fashion or problem the designer is trying to solve. For example, the directions (principles) would apply differently for a design of a costume than for a design of a current fashion garment. The ingredients (elements) are raw materials that must be combined. These elements change the taste of the garment, just as the ingredients can change the taste of a cake. A dress is more eye-catching in a bright color than a dull, neutral color, even though the design is the same.”
There are four elements of fashion design: shape and form, line, color/value, and texture. There are five principles of fashion design: proportion and scale, balance, unity (harmony), rhythm, and emphasis.

ELEMENTS
Shape and form are among the most important in fashion and accessory design. The shape, or silhouette, is the most obvious visual element of a garment; it is probably the first thing that is seen. The silhouette can be described as the outline of the entire garment, and it is often called “form.” The goal of a silhouette is to compliment the shape of the body. However, exaggeration is often used in order to create a certain type of effect or emphasize a certain part of the body; whichever is the current fashion trend.

Line is the simplest element of design. There are two types: outline and style lines. Outline is the outer edge of the design whereas style lines are the lines that divide up the space inside of the outline. For example, if you were to trace around an outfit in a magazine or catalogue, you would be following along the outline. Style lines can be created by several things: belts, ruffles, seams, a color line, or a pocket.

Next to the silhouette, one of the first things noticed about a design is the color. Color has an enormous effect on how you feel. Everyone loves wearing their favorite color, and in fact, it makes them feel good!

Texture is another important element that actually can determine a lot. The way the fabric feels is a big thing to consider. When designing, it’s important to know how a fabric will drape and feel. For example, overalls are great in denim, but would you wear silk satin overalls? Probably not. The design should be paired appropriately with the right fabric.

PRINCIPLES
The first principle is proportion. This creates the feeling of unity that is created when all of the parts (sizes, numbers, or amounts) relate well with each other. Also, when drawing or sketching the human form, proportion refers to the size of the head when in comparison to the rest of the body. Scale therefore refers to the overall size of any object or its parts when compared to the size of other parts or objects in the design.

A simple concept to understand is balance. There are two kinds of balance, and in fact they relate to more than just fashion design; these two types relate to almost any type of design and art. Symmetrical and asymmetrical balance are the only two types that designers and artists use when it comes to balance of their piece. The outfit is symmetrical if you were to divide it right down the middle and both sides are exactly the same. Therefore, if you divide an outfit right down the middle and both sides aren’t the same, the balance is asymmetrical. Asymmetrical balance is quite popular in dressy evening wear because it is dramatic and eye-catching.

Unity is the feeling of harmony between all parts or objects of the design. The overall design creates a sense of completeness.

Rhythm refers to the repeated use of lines, colors, trims, shapes, or details that create a pattern that the eye can follow throughout the design. Examples could be stripes, polka dots, ruffles, etc.

What your eye is drawn to on any outfit is considered to be emphasis. It could be anything that you focus on, from a horizontal stripe, a belt, jewel, or contrasting color.

So after everything is all said and done, it really isn’t that difficult to understand these basic principles and elements. And once you do come to understand all of this, you won’t be able to stop finding them in every outfit that you look at for now on. Just take a look in your drawers and closet…see how many principles and elements you can find!

Editor’s  Note  ::

We are extremely proud on  the completion of successful and glorious six years of India's first  lifestyle ezine avaiable in Hindi  Swapnil Saundarya ezine .

But who are we? Who are the people working behind the scenes to make Swapnil Saundarya Ezine truly beautiful & inspiring ? Today we’d like to publish something rather different. Being chummy as we are, we’d like to give you a peek behind the scenes — a little insight into how we work, who we are, where we live and where we come from. It will be quite a ride, so get yourself a beverage, make yourself comfortable and set a few minutes aside.

How We Work And Tinker: Slow Is Good Link

So far, you have seen only one side of our little publication. Articles get published, and you, dear reader, take care of the rest: promoting the article throughout your social channels and sharing it with colleagues offline. Sometimes an article instigates new discussions on and beyond Swapnil Saundarya Ezine , while sometimes one doesn’t quite manage to spark the conversation we had anticipated. But in either case, at that very moment when the article gets published, we are absolutely confident that it is delivering value to you.

All of Swapnil Saundarya Ezine 's articles have to have a certain… signature, a certain something that justifies their reason for existing online. That “something” has to pass the judgement of our editorial team, which never compromises its strongly held values. However, finding that signature isn’t easy. In fact, the route that an article has to take until that “Publish” button gets clicked is usually quite long. So how exactly does it work? We’re glad you asked.

THE EDITORIAL PROCESS

Five years ago we established our “Publishing Policy,” a sacred set of editorial principles that we adhere to for every single article published on Swapnil Saundarya Ezine . We always protect your interests and ensure that the content published always merits your attention. We never publish any sponsored articles or hidden advertisements. We don’t participate in affiliate marketing. Our lovely sponsors have no influence on our content whatsoever.

These rules help us guarantee a fertile environment in which useful, high-quality articles can be born. Our authors are usually quite surprised by the attention that every single draft gets. We don’t set any deadlines for our authors, and we never push them to deliver an article by a particular date. We never shy away from sending critical or challenging feedback, and we take time to do proper research and quality control to ensure that an article delivers the value that we strive for.

That’s the reason why articles usually take time — and the process in general is slow and time-consuming. Most articles go through three to four rounds of revisions . Being slow enables us to focus and tinker — to work on the little details that make the article feel right.

WORKING WITH AUTHORS

Sure, some authors don’t like the process — justifiably so. We are certainly not always a pleasure to work with, but we don’t have to be — what we do have to be is confident that we can stand behind every single article published in the magazine. And we don’t try to hunt down as many articles or as many authors as possible. In fact, we always publish the most valuable articles first — even if other articles have been waiting in the queue for months. Now, if that doesn’t make an author angry, what would?

Other authors feel grateful that we help them develop their ideas and techniques as the article progresses. We always do our best to take our authors out of their comfort zone; to challenge them, to make them think differently about their craft and their process. We don’t make it easy: we question the status quo and we obsess over all of the little details such as image captions and image credits and sources and front page images and links to related resources. Every single bit of it takes time and effort, but it’s worth it. We are not perfectionists, but we do try to make sure that everything is as it should be.

OUR  TOOLS

How do we manage it all? Well, it’s not as difficult as it sounds. We don’t use any sophisticated tools; we prefer to work with simple tools. For every article, we follow our custom editorial guide, which was thoroughly developed for the magazine as well as for our eBooks and printed books. We have developed a style and tone guide as well, which clearly states what is important to us, what our values and principles are, and what we pay attention to in terms of copywriting, customer service, code and visual design. And we tend to use quite a few checklists as well.

Occasionally we’ll take an hour or two on the weekend to handle the most important tasks and to make sure that our authors, customers and readers don’t have to wait too long for a reply.

We have developed custom tools to make it easier for us to write, coordinate, edit and proofread but we follow a thorough editorial procedure here as well. The magazine runs on Issuu, Blogspot, WordPress & Tumblr .

Notes are often taken with iA Writer, and to-do notes are managed in simple plain-text to-do files. Images and screenshots are created using InstantShot. Design sketches often happen on paper or in the browser. Most of us use Chrome and Firefox as our primary browsers.

We try to avoid distractions. Choosing an office space where avoiding distractions is easy was, therefore, the right decision for our small enterprise.

While a major part of our work requires being available online, over the years we’ve learned to appreciate the distinct appeal of being offline. A lot of planning, editing and design work is deliberately done offline — in sketchbooks with pencils, with sticky notes and doodles, sometimes with large headphones on. Especially when writing feedback for articles and discussing ideas, finding a calm area is often helpful. In fact, we don’t have fixed working hours.... we care that things get done, and we care that things get done properly. Sometimes they are done on the go, in the work place or in a coffee shop.

As we begin volume 07th of Swapnil Saundarya ezine, my prayer is that we continue to  grow and find the space within ourselves to know, beyond all doubt, that there is nothing more that we need to do in order to be complete. All we need is a willingness to allow ourselves to feel good and to be at peace in the present moment. All we need is gratitude for all that we have, and all that we have had the pleasure to be and to experience. That is the starting point from which all other things will flow into our existence.

Be a part of Swapnil Saundarya ezine and Make your Life just like your Dream World !

With love,
Rishabh
